Windowless Air Conditioner Units
If you’ve never heard of a windowless air conditioner, then you’re likely under the
impression that there are some spaces where you simply cannot place a device in order to generate cool
air.
You may, for example, live in an apartment that has windows that are simply not the right
size or shape to hold a unit. You might rent in a place where a good cheap portable air conditioner simply
isn’t permitted in the windows. Or you might have a spot in your home – possibly a bedroom on the top floor –
that just doesn’t get cool enough from the system in your house and where you cannot justify making the whole house
colder in order to lower the temperature in that one room.
If these or any similar situations sound like you, then you should already be shopping
around for a good quality windowless air conditioner. These don’t stop at simply controlling how cool your room
will become. They are freestanding devices that can be moved from one room to another with you and will keep
the entire feel of the room quite pleasant.
After all, these fairly cheap portable air conditioner machines will bring the heat
down out of a room and dehumidify it as it works – some even feature a built-in air filter. This means
that when you’re trying to work in your home office, relax in front of the television, or simply sleep at night,
you’ll enjoy cool air from your windowless air conditioner and won’t suffer from that “sticky” feeling that
results from high humidity and that makes a room feel exceptionally uncomfortable no matter the
temperature.
Windowless Air Conditioner Advantages
Since the very good windowless air conditioners are quite light and don’t use too
much energy (when compared to the bulky units placed in windows), they can also be brought with you to work in
the summertime if your office is simply too hot to work comfortably. If your office is about the size of a
room of your home, then your relatively cheap portable air conditioner can travel with you to
bring relief from those days of misery in the sweltering workplace.
Of course, just because it is a windowless air conditioner, it doesn’t mean that it can be
used in a room without a window. The term simply refers to the fact that it doesn’t need to be mounted in the frame
so that half of the machine is inside while the other half is outside. You will still need to make sure that
there is a way to vent the exhaust from the machine.
All air conditioners, including a cheap portable air conditioner, generate exhaust
and require ventilation of some kind. If there is no nearby window available to vent out the exhaust, then a
dryer vent or high powered bathroom fan or kitchen hood will do the trick. As long as the ventilation area is
large or strong enough to draw out the exhaust, you can use this device comfortably and safely.
